Ephesus Library Ephesus was an ancient Greek city on the west coast of present day Turkey. It is famous for its extensive display of ruins and links to ancient civilization and religion. the Library of Celsus was built in 117 A.D. and is one of the centerpieces of Ephesus ruins. It housed over 12,000 scrolls making it one of the largest libraries in ancient times.
