As a native of South Florida I've been exploring the Everglades and photographing nature for many years and have witnessed the relatively quick decline of the environment and wildlife throughout South Florida over the past forty years.
I hope that my photographs, articles and newsletters have a lasting impact on how people see our natural and outdoor world. It is the responsibility of each of us to help preserve our wilderness areas for future generations. Through photography and writing I share the vision and the spirit of nature.
Enjoy our galleries, articles and newsletters. But more importantly, enjoy the outdoors and help preserve our natural lands!
And now, a momentary digression. As an aside to this website, do you like to barbecue? It's a whole different art form from photography. If you enjoy smoking meats or barbecuing outdoors check out my BBQ website. Great ribs, delicious recipes, a variety of sauces and rubs, and good eating! Merlin's Magic BBQ

Born in Habana, Cuba, I began to travel early in life -- to Miami, where I have lived for fifty years. OK, I guess that ages me, but I was very young when I moved here. As a Systems Analyst/Programmer for Eastern Air Lines and later for the Miami-Dade Police Department, I have strong ties to Miami.
I have had the opportunity to travel to all seven continents. My love for travel is best expressed through my photography. My travels throughout the United States and abroad have introduced me to many cultures, as well as giving me the opportunity to explore the beauty and wonders of nature. Unable to stuff all the experiences and memories into my suitcase, I shoot them - with my camera. And so, through my photography, I express the unique heart and soul of the places I have visited.
Remember when visiting the outdoors – leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures!
Explore the outdoors and enjoy our natural lands. When you visit, remember to "pack it in and pack it out" -- don't litter and don't damage anything. Leave the area as it was when you arrived and our natural lands will remain a memorable and rewarding experience for everyone.
