Mother and chick Black-Browed Albatross (thalassarche melanophrys) This adult albatross was preening its two-month old chick in its typical nest of mud, guano and grass. Chicks hatch in early December and leave the nest in late March. These birds were part of a rookery located on sea cliffs high above the ocean on West Point Island in the Falklands
